David Deliaud, let's listen to an other biker

Hi,

I'm David Deliaud, am working as Engineer in CST Switches and Aero Business unit.

About CST Bike Challenge,
I really like the idea of pooling our collective effort to collect donations for an association focused on healing people with rare diseases.
We have organised similar events in the past but this is clearly the biggest sporting challenge and may also be complicated by the very difficult weather conditions.

That said, the difficulties we will face fade into insignificance compared to people who are suffering from many of these rare diseases for which there is no known cure.

I count on everyone CST worldwide to guess the distance that we will cover between BEI Sensors Strasbourg and Crouzet Valence to make a donation and to your your local associate or chosen cause.

And you can can count on us to make this 'crazy' project a success!

Jean-François is ready for CST Bike Challenge

Hello!

My name is Jean-François Hilaire

I am working as Design Project Manager in Custom Sensors & Technologies Control Technologies Business Unit which proposes products under Crouzet brand. I'm located in Valence and am also involved in Crouzet Mountain Bike Team.

We ride all the year for our pleasure, so once a year, it is great to ride for the others and overcome together a big challenge!
The French Telethon is a unique event, where all together, which we are, we face a unique challenge: to help the medicine of tomorrow.

Achieving collective challenges allows gathering and making people to join the event through a common value: together we are stronger than anything!

In the past for Telethon, I had participated to the 2008 challenge with the objective of riding 150 kms from the Mont Ventoux to Valence. I was also involved in the organization of the 2009 edition, which had focused on the active participation of a maximum of employees (more than 50) through a bike ride, and I had created a web event (Défithon) in 2011.

Every year, it is already a challenge to find a unifying event that will get the support of all.
Dean’s proposal this year, by involving CST and not only Crouzet, is really a great idea for having a common event and a story to share with all CST employees.

It is therefore why I will participate with great pleasure to this challenge this year!
Now, we just have to ride, and you, to support us with your contribution.

Thank you all and don’t forget to follow us on the blog!

CST Bike Challenge will make donation to Telethon association in France

But what is Telethon?

The Telethon, a French fund-raising event, belongs to everyone!
It takes place the first week-end of December every year with the help of hundreds of thousands of volunteers, millions of participants and lots of artists. The Telethon is also a 30 hour TV show on a public chanel.

The French Telethon was imported from the US in 1986.
It generates around 100 Million Euros in donations for the AFM Association.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association (AFM) that organise the event is composed of patients and their families who are affected by a genetic, rare, progressive and severely disabling illness: neuromuscular diseases. In order to fight those diseases, AFM chose to initiate innovative actions and a strategy of general interest that benefits all rare diseases and all persons with disabilities

Dear readers,

Do you know who is the man behind the idea of CST Bike challenge?
Let's discover Dean Whittaker, Transverse Marketing Director at Custom Sensors & Techologies.
The beginning of the idea came from "we would like to organize an action to help the Muscular Dystrophy Association (AFM) in France this year"

Then, let's listen to Dean:
"Back in July the ‘Crouzet Friday Club’ met as usual for a sandwich, beer and aimless discussion. ‘Cycle paths’ and ‘We haven’t done anything for Telethon Charity recently’ led to ‘Why not organise a relay from BEI Sensors Strasbourg to Crouzet Valence?’.
Mumbles of ‘Impossible, it’s over 600 Km’ and ‘Crazy’ sealed it – The CST Bike Challenge was born!!
The newly formed CSR Community seemed the most efficient way to develop the local event into a worldwide challenge, benefiting local charities and causes everywhere.
In the final stages of our preparation, we are all motivated by the thought of CST employees across the globe making donations with a chance to be one of the 2 lucky winners of an iPad Mini.
Good luck and a big thank you for your support."
